New Article out in Environmental Pollution

Our new article on the zooplankton faecal pellet pumping of microplastics is out in Environmental Pollution. In this study, we investigated how ingestion and packaging of microplastics into zooplankton faecal pellets shapes the global distribution of microplastics into the global ocean, and showed that this faecal pumping may explain in part the presence of buoyant plastic polymers in the deep ocean.
